Many bland and uninteresting areas can be broken up and improved with the addition of a mosaic. An individual design can add character and colour to what would otherwise be an empty space.
The stylised fish design, one of a pair, was added to a blank garage wall that formed the backing to an ornamental fish pond, thus carrying on the theme, adding colour and interest.
The stylised lily design was achieved by insetting a paving slab into a patio, and building the mosaic on top, breaking up the uniform appearance of the patio. The addition creates a feeling of colour and movement and not least, a talking point.
Mosaics can be created to almost any design and most surfaces will be receptive.
